Nitrogen
in flue gas and in fuel is combined with Oxygen
in a furnace at the high temperature so that NOx
is created. Among those, NO and NO2 affect plants,
animals and humans like as SOx. The amount of
NOx have to be controlled by the following facilities.
Selective Catalytic Reduction system and Selective
Non-Catalytic Reduction system are used for removing
NOx.
SCR
Process (Selective Catalytic Reduction System)
SCR Process
NOx
contacts with reductants such as ammonia
or urea and react with those on the catalyst
surface. Through this chemical process,
NOx divides into N2 nad H2O and even organic
matters(CxHy: Dioxins and Furans) are oxidized
and removed. SCR Process is used for both
De-NOx and De-Dioxin.
SNCR
Process (Selective Non-Catalytic Reduction System)
SNCR Process
NOx
is deoxidized by a reductant such as Urea
without catalyst in the temperature rage
of 800 ~ 900℃ (normally over 700 ℃) and
is finally changed into N2 gas.
